What’s so great about Vauxhall?
So, why should you check out properties for sale in Vauxhall? In short, it blends excellent clubbing with gorgeous gardens and fantastic community facilities. All that may sound like one big contradiction in terms, but somehow, Vauxhall has managed to achieve the seemingly impossible and blend great nightlife with community amenities. Get your hands in the air at the clubs and bars and then escape to the lovely gardens of Vauxhall Grove to recover on Sunday.
Properties for sale in Vauxhall appeal to all sorts, particularly young professionals and younger families. Close proximity to the Houses of Parliament also means you’ll find many MPs with second homes in the area. Having said that, those on lower incomes also live here. It’s a really mixed bag, making it one of the capital’s most interesting residential areas.
This area may be home to some of the capital’s best clubs but there are facilities for kids too, including the aforementioned gardens and Vauxhall City Farm.
Add veggie cafes, coffee shops and two big supermarkets into the mix and it’s easy to see why properties for sale in Vauxhall are so appealing. It also doesn’t hurt that the transport links are excellent, but we’ll come to those a little later.

Properties for sale in Vauxhall come in all shapes, sizes and styles. In SW8, you’ll find everything from ex-local authority flats in purpose-built blocks to swanky new riverside apartments, penthouses, period conversion flats and Victorian terraces. You’ll also find a smattering of Regency terraces, which are truly stunning.
Having said all that, it’s period conversion flats that make up the majority of properties for sale in Vauxhall.
Prices start at around £190,000 for pre-owned, one bedroom flats, although most have an asking price of at least £200,000. Two bedroom ex-local authority flats start at around £230,000. Meanwhile, one bedroom period conversions can be picked up at prices starting from £270,000.
Three bedroom flats and maisonettes in SW8 start at £295,000.
If you want a one bedroom luxury riverside apartment in developments like St George’s Wharf, expect to pay at least £300,000.
Transport Links
Properties for sale in Vauxhall are good for those who want to live on the Victoria Line. Residents can make their way around the capital using underground and National Rail. The area is served by Vauxhall Underground (Victoria Line), Battersea Park and Queenstown Road National Rail stations. Bus services connect Vauxhall to central and south London.
